MB Pre-Fab Framing P/L
15 - 17 Leather Street, Breakwater (Geelong), Victoria |
History
M.B.
Pre-Fab was established on 5th September 1977, through a need for
good quality wall frames, roof trusses and an unquestionable backup
service. Over the next six years the Company’s reputation and business grew to such an extent that they had to look for larger premises. New premises were located some two kilometres away in Leather Street and within three years they had purchased the adjoining factory to house the wall framing section. In 1987 a further 3 blocks of land were purchased for the purpose of further development. In 1995 a third factory was built to house the most advanced fully computerised, automated saw available in Australia. An advanced multi-head auto plate feed jig was also introduced. Some $550,000 was invested to assure quality of products at a cost effective price. In 1996 Longreach Floor Trusses were introduced with astounding results. M.B. saw a need to develop the wall framing division and to keep up with technology. In 2000 M.B. set up the first fully computerised wall framing division of its kind in Australia, assuring that quality controls are met and prices are competitive. In 2003 MB Pre-Fab purchased a further 3 blocks of land in Leather Street to the West side of the existing office block. Three one acre blocks in Tanner Street, North of the existing factories have also been purchased. During 2004-05 MB Pre-Fab built two new factories approximately 50 metres x 36 metres. One houses the truss manufacturing division and the other wall manufacturing. East of the offices a new timber shed has been completed. Shortly all the offices and reception area will be extended.
